What to See in Tremezzina

Elegant climatic resort, famous since the 30s to the point that in a film Greta Garbo proposed to his beloved to flee to Tremezzo, even today its villas and its hotels are the object of admiration and amazement by many visitors.

To Ossuccio to signal the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of the Soccorso and the Sacro Monte declared world heritage of humanity by the UNESCO, the Sacred Mountain of Ossuccio also has a remarkable landscape value, rendered even more suggestive by the silence that permeates the whole area.

Also in Ossuccio, the Romanesque church of Santa Maria Maddalena (12th century) is interesting above all for its bell tower with a terracotta bell-cell.

In Lenno, the collegiate church of Santo Stefano of early medieval origins with the crypt and the Romanesque baptistery (XI-XII century) are of great value.

In Tremezzo you can visit Villa Carlotta, historic home, now a museum where you can also visit a park consisting of large terraces with areas of English garden, Italian garden and park with tall trees.

The four hamlets that make up Tremezzina offer possibilities for walks along the lakefront, without forgetting the hinterland, rich in greenery and paths that climb up the hills behind it from which you can admire the beautiful landscapes of Lario and Bellagio. In Tremezzo public gardens are very interesting, an opportunity to combine nature and architecture. In addition, Lenno and Tremezzo are connected to other lake resorts thanks to the ferries that sail regularly from their ports and offer possible trips on the lake.
